Privacy
Climate Villains collects no personal data. No accounts, no tracking cookies, no email harvesting.
What is collected
Nothing personally identifiable. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not store device identifiers: no IP linking, no fingerprinting. It records page views and referrer for aggregate traffic counts. That is the entire dataset.
What the site does NOT do
No account system. No email signup. No third-party ad trackers. No Google Analytics. No Facebook pixel. No fingerprinting libraries. No session replay. Climate Villains has never sold data and never will. There is none to sell.
Cookies
The site sets no tracking cookies. It uses one optional localStorage key (cv-theme) to remember your dark-mode preference. That stays in your browser; it is never sent anywhere.
Logs
Standard Vercel server logs (request URL, response status, timestamp) are retained briefly for abuse and security investigation. No request body is logged.
Third parties
Page metadata (titles, descriptions) is intentionally surfaced to search engines and social-card unfurlers. The methodology, data, and emissions figures are sourced from Climate TRACE (CC BY 4.0). When you click an external link, such as a regulatory filing or a company website, the linked site's privacy policy applies, not this one.
Your rights
Because the site holds no personal data tied to you, there is nothing to access, export, or delete. If you believe a non-personal data point on the site (an emissions number, a corporate affiliation, an investor listing) is wrong, see the “Report a correction” link on each entity page.
